Focused towards interior fit-out and large-scale renovations they have built for the following institutions: ESPN, BlackRock, Starbucks, Cambridge University, The Durst Organization, JLL, and Empire Reality to name but a few.
Your new role
They are seeking a Senior Construction Estimator for their NY office, responsible for generating comprehensive construction cost estimates primarily for GMP contracts. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the successful candidate actively participating in bids and leveraging a strong network of reliable subcontractors to produce competitive cost estimates. In this role, you can expect to carry out the following:
Perform detailed estimates and analysis for assigned scopes.
Prepare bids for various contract types including Lump Sum, CM, GMP, and Cost Plus.
Act as the primary contact with subcontractors, design teams, and clients.
Conduct constructability evaluations and suggest cost-effective alternatives.
Evaluate subcontractor bids, lead Post Bid Reviews, and finalize subcontract scopes.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you should have a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of experience in estimation. While not mandatory, professional certifications like Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credentials can be advantageous. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders are essential.
