Maintenance Technician reports to the Facilities Director and is responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and furnishings. Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventative maintenance to mechanical equipment and systems
Perform corrective work orders including but not limited to those listed below, using common hand and power tools:
Patching and painting walls and surfaces
Repair, replace or adjust inoperable doors and hardware
Replace damaged or missing ceiling tiles
Cove base and carpet repairs
Hang boards, pictures, signs, and other wall fastened items.
Minor furniture repairs
General carpentry functions
Minor plumbing repairs
Sourcing of parts and supplies to perform work functions
Work from elevated areas such as ladders and platforms, utilizing protective equipment when required
Work without direct supervision on daily assigned work
Effectively communicate with school and facilities staff to accomplish assigned tasks
Maintain adherence to work schedule and availability to work overtime as required
Perform other related duties as assigned, such as assisting other tradesmen and emergency repairs
Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 1 year of building maintenance experience preferred
Ability to read blueprints and have an understanding codes and regulations
Understand and ensure compliance with company & client policies/procedures and safety rules/regulations
Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally
