The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. We are located in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana - the third largest city in the state. The Mt. Accountabilities:
Demonstrate ability to accurately operate equipment, perform equipment set-up/change-over/cleanups, assist in preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment problems to achieve optimum production levels.
Ensure compliance with Mt. Vernon Site standards, policies, and SOPs for GMP and required documentation, as well as AstraZeneca Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards and requirements.
Pay attention to detail and effectively document and follow SOPs.
Collaborate with Process Facilitators and other Operators/Mechanics/Technicians to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in equipment/production efficiencies.
Dispose of hazardous waste ink materials in the < 90 day accumulation container.
Be flexible in responding to changes in equipment/production assignments and understand, interpret, and advise on production schedules.
Demonstrate good communication skills and work in a high-performing team environment.
Be available to work other shifts, weekends, or alternative schedules when production demands require. Position could rotate shifts or have a fixed shift assignment.
Conduct activities and interactions consistent with AstraZeneca values and in compliance with the Code of Ethics and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to your role.
Ensure compliance with AZ Corporate Policies and Directives, site Standard Operating Procedures, site policies, work instructions, regulatory requirements, and industry standard processes (cGMPs, GAMP, ITIL, PMI or equivalent experience).
Maintain a safe work environment and perform work in accordance with site SHE policies and procedures.
Immediately report potential unsafe conditions to management.
Support internal, external, and regulatory inspections including FDA, EMEA, and third-party inspections.
Participate in the investigation and resolution of product quality problems.
Complete work in compliance with cGMPs, site policies, work instructions, and SOPs.
Essential Skills/Experience:
High School Diploma with one year experience in a production environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Basic mechanical proficiency.
Basic digital literacy; experience with Microsoft Office applications, and SAP is desirable.
Good interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
Knowledge of cGMPs.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
Three years experience as an operator in a production environment, pharmaceutical experience a plus.
