SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified General Accountant.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP's Financial Business Area is currently looking for a General Accountant.The General Accountant willsupport our Accounting/Finance group, reporting to Controller. The role willapply extensive formal accounting knowledge and acquired experience toindependently compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep GeneralLedger records complete.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Perform any combination of critical calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining General Ledger records.
Assure the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings that pertain to business transactions that were recorded by others in the company as required.
Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to creating vouchers in accounting system. Input vouchers for the accounts payable department into CostPoint accounting system.
Organize & maintain vendor and employee A/P files.
Reviews and process Employees’ Travel Expense Reports following company policies and procedures.
Assist with weekly check runs observing all internal control procedures.
Account for credit card transactions and assist credit card reconciliation
Prepare monthly reconciliations and analyses of General Ledger accounts; use discretion and judgement to research and determine root cause for issues, omissions, and errors.
Prepare and adjust journal entries for the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closes, ensuring timely, thorough completion and escalation of issues.
Collaborate with purchasing and billing functions to reconcile discrepancies through to resolution.
Ensure adherence to defined processes and procedures, including the checking of figures, postings, and documents to verify entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Complete annual vendor evaluation as part of ISO procedures, including reviewing vendors for ownership classifications, and SCARs; adjust vendor information in Cost Point.
Engage internal business partners to provide exemplary customer service; access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
Awareness and compliance with company policies and procedures as defined in the SEA CORP Code of Conduct
Handbook and Quality Management System (QMS).
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree inAccounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevantexperience.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
Working knowledge ofOutlook, SharePoint, Excel, Word.
Experience working with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills.
Good planning andorganizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
Ability to workindependently with general supervision and collaborate with accounting team andother departments to effectively resolve issues.
Ability to work in afast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
