Pitt-Bradford’s Office of Philanthropic and Alumni Relations is seeking a driven individual to be our new Development Associate. This role reports to the Executive Director of Philanthropic and Alumni Relations and supports our fundraising efforts while engaging with a vibrant community of alumni, donors, and friends.

Salary: $37,200 – $46,450/year

Job Duties:

Development & Stewardship:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for donor engagement and stewardship.
  • Coordinate communications and outreach to alumni and prospective donors.
  • Support the creation of donor reports and impact statements.

Event & Meeting Planning:

  • Plan, organize, and execute existing and new alumni events and fundraising initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings with donors and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop engaging event programming.

Gift Processing & Reporting:

  • Manage the processing of donations and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Generate and maintain reports on fundraising progress and donor engagement.
  • Assist in tracking and acknowledging gifts in a timely manner.

Administrative/Office Management:

  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement.
  • Maintain office files, databases, and correspondence related to fundraising efforts.
  • Assist with budget tracking and procurement of office supplies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with fundraising software is a plus.

Job Summary

Assists in determining feasibility and funding strategies for new and ongoing programs. Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and tracks individual prospect gifts. Develops and executes fundraising communications and solicitations.


Essential Functions

The Development Associate supports programs and policies across Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement (PAE) to build lifelong relationships that support and enhance fundraising and engagement. The individual needs to exhibit a high level of professionalism and possess excellent organizational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, following a standardized stewardship strategy for recognizing smaller gift donors to support pipeline for larger opportunities, planning and executing events and meetings that advance donor engagement and involvement, analyzing effectiveness of events and recommending improvements or new creative strategies, assisting in the development of print and digital fundraising and stewardship communications, management of philanthropic memorial and tribute programs, performing administrative support activities including answering phones and welcoming visitors, processing gifts and preparing cash deposits, interacting with constituents at all levels of the institution, and assisting with the coordination of the activities of student assistants under the Federal Work Study program and volunteers as needed.


Physical Effort

Position is generally sedentary. Individual is required to assist in the set up and tear down of events approx. once per month including but not limited to carrying items to the event venue, standing for prolonged periods of time, and lifting above the head.
