Summary:
Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) testing.
Responsibilities:
Performs long-term video EEG monitoring on patients, demonstrating proficiency in the International 10-20 system. Performs job functions following the 'Guidelines for EEG and Long Term Neuro-Diagnostic Monitoring in Epilepsy" as set by the American Society of Electro-Neuro-Diagnostic Technologists.Performs data retrieval and reduction operations and video EEG recordings prepared in a form suitable for interpretation by the physician.Attaches and connects electrodes on the head from EEG machine. Performs prescribed testing.Reviews patient's history and educates patient about procedure. Monitors and documents patient's condition and responds to and reports any seizure symptoms.Identifies and corrects artifacts. Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
