Job Title: Business Development Manager - Weapons & Optics (Air Force)
Location: ADS Headquarters (Virginia Beach, VA) OR Remote locations considered within the Destin, FL OR Warner Robins, GA regions
Responsibilities
Research and develop business within assigned program offices and related accounts
Ensure a successful transition over existing accounts
Identify program needs and objectives
Maintain existing relationships while targeting new areas for business development
Identify initial purchases and priorities, manufacturers, product categories and technologies
Determine preferred and/or optimal means of procurement
Serve as the lead for all large-scale solicitations
Engage and establish long term sales and service solutions
Market/Industry analysis
Seek out capability gaps within customer base and insert innovative partner solutions
Regularly communicate with industry to ensure a sound understanding of market trends
Create new solutions in response to market changes
Proactively seek out new business and similar customers
Work with ADS support staff to ensure ADS follows through on what we promise
Communicate with support staff to make sure customer deadlines are met, agreements are in place, strategic alliances are established, etc.
Facilitate direct communication with customer when needed
Work with assigned vertical sales reps based on program territory and/or scope of program objective as required.
Develop business processes that allows you to grow your year over year program accounts
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Generate reports and respond to requests for information on time
Requirements
2 years of experience with military acquisition - either in sales, business development or DOD
2 years of experience with MS Office
Bachelor's Degree required (military experience at locations considered in lieu of)
Travel required
2 years of experience in government programs, contracts & procedures (preferred)
Salesforce experience is preferred
Other Qualifications
Prior experience with Armament Directorate (AFLCMC EB)
Residence local to listed locations, or ADS HQ (preferred)
Understanding of the Government Acquisition process and broad range of procurement vehicles
Professional & polished demeanor
Ability to identify and maximize opportunity
Flexibility and organizational skills
Good grammar and writing skills
Able to work well under pressure, ability to manage multiple efforts at varying stages
Excellent communications skill's ability to build rapport and trust with a wide variety of personnel
Strong negotiation skills
Self-starter ability to work with vendors directly without relying on internal resources
