Job Description
Our construction claims group provides expert services to contractors, owners, developers, sureties, and attorneys on construction disputes. These services include forensic schedule and delay analysis, quantum/damages calculations, standard of care, and liability reviews. We pride ourselves on providing the most value to our clients, through sound analysis, problem-solving, clear articulation of our findings, and unrivaled attention.
We are looking for a Senior Director level candidate who has construction delay and schedule analysis expertise both in a consulting capacity and as a testifying expert witness to join our growing team. This is an amazing opportunity for you to lead the expansion of our services into a new region. We are looking for candidates who have a dedicated client following and strong business development skills.
What you will be doing:
Lead construction delay claim project teams on engagements requiring in-depth schedule and financial analyses.
Review data and documentation, including construction drawings, schedules, submittals and shop drawings, daily reports, weather data, cost reports, and more, to determine trends and key findings for the development of expert reports
Prepare complex forensic schedule analysis and calculate delays through the use of various modeling methods.
Develop written expert reports outlining the analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations for leadership review
Testify to expert opinions and support other testifying experts to prepare for deposition and trial / arbitration testimony
Utilize data analysis techniques and software to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends in schedule and financial data
Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific needs and work with the VERTEX team to provide expert advice, and offer tailored solutions to complex project issues
Develop proposals, statements of qualification, and presentations, and attend conferences and other industry events to support business development efforts
Develop client relationships; participate with team in client meetings and presentations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical, construction-related field (i.e.: architecture, construction management, engineering) required. Advanced degree preferred.
10+ or more years experience on construction related claims - litigation support
Demonstrated experience in leading complex construction delay disputes, including arbitration or litigation
Prior experience providing expert testimony in a court of law required
PE (Professional Engineer) or RA (Registered Architect) architecture license preferred
Prior experience managing employees preferred
Advanced proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, and have a firm understanding of CPM scheduling
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze, interpret and present analytical and financial data effectively and efficiently
Excellent verbal and technical writing skills in English
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office technology, including Excel
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure and meet client and litigation-driven deadlines
Ability to work in professional services setting - fast-paced and time-tracked projects and highly responsive to team and client needs
Working knowledge of Primavera P6 is strongly desired
