Shipping Day Supervisor at Nucor Corporation in Seattle, Washington

Basic Job Functions:



The role of the shipping day shift supervisor includes coordinating the plant safety/quality culture and operational processes for a 4-shift shipping team. The supervisor must set daily, short and long range goals/objectives for the shipping functions, manage the finished goods warehousing, identify operator competence and training requirements, plan and conduct meetings, communicate inter-departmentally and enforce the Management System. The shipping team works closely with Sales, Transportation, Yard and Mill/CCL team members and must handle multiple priorities concurrently.


Pay Grades 14-15 $28.81 - $30.25 Plus weekly production bonus (typically 160% of base pay)


Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:



One year of leadership experience.




Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with shipping functions


• Strong computer skills including Word and Excel plus ten key ability and math aptitude.


• Strong writing skills with the ability to prepare professional reports, safety contacts, BOR's, etc.
