Perform activities for construction and maintenance of company facilities including the installation, operation and maintenance of all gas and liquid pipeline-related facilities. Assist in the supervision and management of major pipeline construction projects, as well as the construction and installation of pipeline relocation projects.
This position reports to a Construction Supervisor to ensure consistency and assurance of work performed in compliance with governmental and company policies and procedures. Additionally, this position will work with and assist the regional maintenance staff, as needed, with projects and emergency responses.Minimum requirements:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
A minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience may be considered as a substitute for a diploma.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, and thickness testing equipment.
Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors and construction inspectors, with focused attention on details, work rules, and adherence to required project work schedules.
Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance procedures
Ability to operate heavy pipeline excavation equipment including large trucks
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
Knowledge of equipment operations and servicing.
Knowledge of basic properties of metals.
Basic knowledge of pipe SMYS grades and ANSI fitting pressure classes.
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
Achieve and maintain all qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classification.
May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties (regulatory welding certifications).
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Evidence of previous Operator Qualification (OQ) for pipeline maintenance.
Class A / B CDL
Knowledge of Tallgrass policies, O&M procedures, construction practices, and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Operations. (HAZWOPER)
Ability to sketch field drawings for as-builts, piping designs, BOM's, weld-maps, etc.

Compensation:
The salary for this role is $35.38-$46.77/hr.Essential duties and responsibilities:
Assisting with hot tapping and stopple equipment, perform valve maintenance, pigging operations, pipe cleaning (internal and external), hydrostatic testing and perform leak surveys using flame ionization equipment.
Incumbent may be required to lead others, train, develop training, ensure compliance, supply financial input, scope projects and oversee the supervision of contractors and contract workers.
Perform all phases of mobilizing, operating and maintaining heavy excavation equipment (hydrovac truck, backhoe, track hoe, side boom, dozer, and maintainers) to include excavation frequently on in-service natural gas and products pipelines.
Coordinate and complete pipeline operations and maintenance tasks and projects in support of plant, pipeline, corrosion, measurement, controls, pipeline maintenance, and engineering.
Inspecting welding operations on the pipeline, piping systems, well equipment, tools, support structures, and other equipment.
Layout, cut, fit, and otherwise prepare material for welding.
Assist welders in the fabrication of material from piping schematics and other drawings.
Work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
Repair shorted pipeline casings and install CP test points on pipelines.
Prepare pipelines for full encirclement sleeves for anomaly repairs
Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
This individual will be responsible for administrative tasks including ordering and receiving required replacement parts, completing personal time sheets and expense accounts, and maintaining a company vehicle.
Perform excavation spotter tasks and manage excavation crossings of lines.
Operate large truck and trailer hauling equipment required to transport heavy work equipment or project materials to job site.
Perform Hydrotests as needed.
Inspect third-party construction, as directed.
Identify reports and correct safety and environmental concerns.
Actively participate in safety programs/initiatives, development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes, and work plans.
Assist in planning and coordinating pipeline shutouts involving hot and cold welding.
Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listening carefully.
