About Team:



The Financial services team is responsible for providing seamless credit, lending, BNPL, money transfer and touchless mobile payment experiences to online and in-store Walmart customers. This team has specific focus on Get & Receive, Pay & Send, Manage & Protect and Save & Propel money service capabilities. We strive to continuously improve money services technology and push the boundaries of what is new/next across the omni ecosystem at Walmart. We are innovating from enterprise platform to consumer experience, helping Walmart leverage what it does best while connecting fintech to retail. Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.



What you'll do:



As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of complex, scalable solutions that power Walmart's digital transformation for Money Services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and play a key role in shaping the technical direction of projects that drive our business forward.



What you'll bring:

• 
  Technical Leadership: Lead design and architect discussions on end-to-end solutions using modern full-stack technologies like Java, Spring Boot, React, and cloud platforms to support Walmart's digital initiatives, enabling Money Services.


• 
  Application Development: Write clean, scalable, and high-performing code using Java, Spring Boot, and React, ensuring seamless deployment in cloud environments such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Walmart Cloud Native Platform (WCNP).


• 
  Mentor and Guide: Act as a technical mentor for other engineers, providing guidance and ensuring best practices in coding, design patterns, and development methodologies. Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and inclusivity.

  Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and align solutions with business goals.

  Technical Strategy: Define and guide the Money Services technical roadmap, ensuring it aligns with broader company goals and product timelines.


• 
  Quality & Security: Implement security best practices and quality assurance t high-quality standards through code reviews, unit testing, and automated testing.


• 
  Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities for improvement, including automation and optimization, and drive high standards in operational excellence and system observability.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...
