Position: Staff Software Engineer
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Design, develop and debug next level software Ad Products that serve on any of Wal-Mart's Software Platforms, on- and off property, online platforms, and in-store. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Ads API microservices to deliver display ads on Walmart platform. Contribute to the Site-Speed Initiative by scaling server side DFP proxy solutions and contribute to the unified Ads Library that powers Wal-Mart's entire adaptive web environment. Work on Ads Inventory Optimization and Redesign Initiatives for better Customer experience. Work on all phases of the software development life cycle, delivering well-designed, testable, efficient software code, and be responsible for environment setups for development, testing and production deployments. Design, review, and update software artifacts in compliance with specifications and produce releases of software components. Analyze reports and various metrics to identify, track and fix issues related to ad serving. Analyze A/B test results data and customer feedback to identify and fix issues related to the software platform. Provide technical direction, architecture leadership and expertise to the team.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 3 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 6 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.
Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST and GraphQL services using Node.js and Java. Experience designing UI/UX components with React and Next.js Frameworks. Experience with coding frontend in TypeScript, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML and CSS. Experience building scalable applications with frameworks including Spring Boot, Akka and JSON parsers. Experience deploying MicroServices to cloud platforms including Azure and GCP using Kubernetes. Experience designing database systems using MySQL. Experience writing complex statements in SQL to query data from BigQuery tables. Experience developing Scala code to read Kafka messages and stream processing. Experience analyzing performance issues using Splunk and Dynatrace. Experience with CI/CD using Docker, Maven, Webpack, and npm. Experience testing frameworks including Jest, JUnit and Mockito. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $174,518/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
