In 2023, through the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded C.A.S.E. $20 million to launch the first-ever National Center for Adoption Competent Mental Health Services (the Center). It is an exciting time as we grow our evidenced-based adoption-competent clinical model and our accredited, award-winning training programs nationwide.
C.A.S.E has an annual budget of $12.5 million and a staff of 60+ employees.
About the Position:
Reporting to the Director of The Academy, the regular part-time (24 hours/week) Mental Health Coach will be responsible for developing, implementing, and scaling a coaching program to support transfer of learning for individuals who take the National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training (NTI) course. This free, web-based?training is designed to assist the mental health workforce across the nation better address the mental health & developmental needs of children in foster, adoptive, or kinship families. The self-paced course enhances knowledge and skills. The role of the coach is to support participants through synchronous coaching to effectively integrate these learnings to improve their practice. In addition, this position will strive to build local capacity in States, Tribes, and Territories. This coach will work in collaboration with the National Center for Adoption Competent Mental Health Services team as well as the NTI team whose staff also deliver coaching.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creation of coaching model:
Develops and/or enhances materials to be used
in the delivery of a coaching model (to include
in-person and online delivery options)
Reviews and apply best practices to design and/or improve an effective and scalable coaching program
Creates fidelity measures for coaching program
Recruitment of coaching participants:
Works in collaboration with the marketing team to develop materials and testimonials to support coaching recruitment and engagement
Actively recruits participants to join coaching cohorts
Develops and delivers presentations that speak to the value and return on investment for coaching participation
Implementation of coaching:
Conduct NTI coaching as follows:
Create outlines and materials for sessions
Consult on cases of participants to reinforce learning points from NTI modules
Delivers coaching program and ensures fidelity
to model as assigned by National Center team
Provides ongoing motivational strategies to
support NTI completion
Troubleshoot challenges as they arise to support ongoing use and integration of NTI
Demonstrates ability to strategically identify and define barriers, seek creative and effective solutions
Responds accurately and timely to product/training inquiries and clearly communicates training features and benefits of coaching
Develops CQI measures to implement during coaching sessions to improve coaching and to provide feedback on curriculum
Integrates effective adult learning principles and active engagement into all sessions
Is skilled at facilitating case consultation models
Supports active peer networking and resource exchange
Plans and tracks all coaching activities
Works with STTs to build coaching capacity through development of train the trainer model
Will work with team and external evaluators to evaluate the coaching model
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enhances clinical skills through ongoing participation/review of NTI and other C.A.S.E. learning opportunities
Participates in assigned National Center team meetings and scheduled individual supervision sessions.
Participates in and attends monthly C.A.S.E.
all-staff meetings, and other required C.A.S.E. meetings and events
Attend or present at relevant virtual national, regional and/or state conferences, as required.
Performs other related duties as may be required.
