Position Description: The Operations Supervisor will supervise the daily operations of the Snyder Gas Plant to maximize productivity and profitability while complying with all Safety, PSM, EHS and environmental requirements. Relocation may be considered for this position.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Supervise 14 SCADA Operators and 2 Operations Technicians
Promote an environment of high safety awareness and compliance among all plant operations personnel
Strive to perform all operations activities in an environmentally sound manner.
Assist in the ongoing management of the Process Safety Management program for SGP
Work closely with EHS Project Managers to maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety and environmental requirements
Assist in the preparation and management of annual operations budget
Monitor and control operations expenditures
Oversee daily operations of SGP to maintain maximum production as efficiently as possible
Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting problem areas
Determine training requirements and resources available to operations personnel
Prepare annual performance reviews for all operations personnel
Provide coaching, guidance and counseling as needed
Provide project management on small projects
Provide engineering assistance as required
Maintain open and frequent communications with plant manager on all issues pertaining to SGP operations and operating personnel
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
Solid safety and environmental practices
Self-starter and high drive for results
Must be able to handle multiple tasks
Strong teamwork
Strong communication skills
Basic computer skills
Must maintain a valid driver's license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company's insurers
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
Working Conditions:
May be required to work after hours, weekends and holidays
Tasks are performed in all weather conditions, in daylight & darkness
May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, and reach with hands and arms.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Process, compressors, vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances
Be available for call-out and overtime
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge: (Above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)
Experience in oil and gas operations
Experience in gas processing
Experience in compression operation
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
College course work in technical or business field will be helpful in this position
