General Summary
Coordinates the placement of students in field placements with supervisors/instructors and teachers. Manages outreach and recruitment of partner schools, including updating recruitment and marketing materials.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain database of clinical experiences of students, provide advice and information regarding the program, planning, developing and implementing program and events for students, managing outreach activities with partner schools.
Reviews student field placement applications, placing teacher preparation students in field placements and, maintaining field database, negotiating field placements with schools and potential mentor teachers, exploring the creation of new partnerships, and planning student orientations and visiting classes to explain field placements.
Trains, supervises, and evaluates student teacher supervisors.
Troubleshoots problems related to field placements, registration, advising and related activities. Participates on assigned committees and advisory boards.
Identifies and maintains communication with contact departments. Assists in planning, developing and implementing program events. Performs related duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters in education related field.
K-12 teaching certificate (may be expired).
At least 5 years working in K-12 schools, preference to those with leadership responsibilities.
Well developed oral and written skills.
A working knowledge of K-12 schools.
Ability to perform spreadsheet analysis of databases using Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
University level teaching experience desired.
