The Qualification Engineer will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and qualification of select QED products. In this role you will work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and customer service to maintain, improve, and perform all qualification duties.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Job duties will be performed as needed on-site and at local vendor site; estimate 50/50 time at QED on University Ave and vendor site in Lyell-Otis neighborhood
Prioritize qualification tasks based on urgency and due date
Reserve lab equipment, utilizing CRM software, for scheduling tasks and machine usage
Execute machine and assembly qualifications, following QED procedures:
Record machine data
Troubleshoot if necessary
Contact appropriate departments for additional assistance with issues
Work with vendor in a professional manner to collaborate and resolve issues
Work closely with Customer Service and Application Engineering
Communicate qualification results to appropriate departments
Work interdepartmentally to continuously improve processes, procedures, and products
Experience with handling, manufacturing and/or testing precision optics is desired.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience/Education/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience required; 5+yrs quality or qualification experience and/or 5+yrs working with QED MRF products
Strong attention to detail
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain positive and professional supplier relationships
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Fluent in Microsoft Suite applications:

Work Hours:
First shift is the normal working hours of this position. Although, off shift and weekend work may be requested or required, subject to manager approval, to meet deadlines.

Local Travel (5-10%): Required for qualifications between vendor and QED site, optional travel to key supplier
