The Stockroom Technician is responsible for the total ownership of the technical team's stockroom. This position is in support of Maintenance and Operations by facilitating part availability at the right time, the right place, and at the lowest cost possible. This is accomplished using standard operating procedures for inventory control and reduction, parts receiving and inspection, parts kitting, staging and delivery, proper material storage, parts preventive maintenance, metrics and other activities critical to world-class storeroom operations.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
In-house training required. Completion of certification program may be required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling and gripping
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces
Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
Ability to read, write and speak English
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience setting up a new stockroom or experience redesigning/optimizing an existing stockroom.
Experience creating stockroom processes
Experience using SAP Plant Mx, eMaint, or Maximo
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Has experience in vendor relations
What will be your Key Responsibilities?
Performs all assigned activities & job tasks within the area.
As a team member, the individual has direct responsibility and accountability for stockroom operations, cycle counts, stock room inventory reduction and part kitting for all planned jobs.
Understands principles of inventory control.
Will be expected to become a eMaint (CMMS - computerized maintenance management system) superuser and functional expert for parts purchasing and inventory control
As a contributing resource, perform job kitting, staging and delivery to increase maintenance group efficiencies.
Be able to develop best practices for the area and ensure best practices are followed
Be a resource to plant associates in searching for parts/equipment which are stored in the stockroom required for a particular use or machine.
Utilize computer system to update and maintain item history, vendors and quality information.
Oversee the stock KPI's/Metrics and adhere to all workflow process and procedures defined by MSE.
Be able to coach and mentor a stockroom assistant.
