Accountabilities:



As a Tax Manager, you will report to a Senior Manager within the Tax Operations group. You will work in a detailed and independent manner across various disciplines of the tax department. Your responsibilities will include working within Global Tax Operations on tax accounting and reporting processes, federal compliance, and other tax functions. You will also have opportunities to participate in other Tax Operations functions such as transfer pricing, federal audits, long-range forecasting, and working with the UK and Swedish Tax Operations teams.



Major Responsibilities:



Support the U.S. functions of the Global Tax Operations group by:


  • Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly tax provision for the US Pharmaceuticals, Biologics, and Rare Disease businesses, including all supporting calculations and documentation such as preparation of M-1 adjustments and tax reporting disclosures.

  • Assisting in the preparation of management reporting packages and preparing models for effective tax rate and tax cash forecasting.

  • Supporting the delivery of timely and accurate tax provisions and reporting submissions to U.S. finance teams and UK and Swedish tax teams.

  • Helping oversee tax account reconciliation process done by tax support team on monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Helping oversee gathering of SOX controls documentation and assist with managing the testing by internal and external auditors.

  • Assisting with tax purchase accounting and other integration tasks associated with M&A activity

  • Assisting with return-to-provision calculations and/or preparation of U.S. partnership, corporation, consolidated and other unitary/combined tax returns and related filings, as assigned.

  • Participating in other Tax Operations functions such as transfer pricing, federal audits, long range forecasting and working with the UK and Swedish Tax Operations teams.




Essential Skills/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or business administration.

  • Minimum 2 years or more of tax accounting experience in a large corporation or large accounting firm..

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, tax accounting, and federal and state tax laws.in a large corporation or large accounting firm.

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at once and to meet targeted due dates.

  • Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal skills to brief Senior Tax Management on pertinent tax issues.

  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills & motivation.

  • Proven ability to lead a project and to timely complete a given task by a fixed due date.




Desired Skills/Experience:



  • 2 - 7 years of tax provision and compliance experience in a large corporation or large accounting firm.

  • CPA certification or plans to take the exam.

  • Knowledge of OneSource provision and Longview software preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledge of CCH, RIA, and/or BNA research tools.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP preferred, but not required.

  • Experience with bridging financial data into and across tax systems as well as tax process automation preferred, but not required.
