Thru the direction of the supervisor work from travelers, process sheets, and notes on blueprints to perform required preparation and packing and marking of product, as well as any other duties assigned. This can include verifying part numbers, quantities, and other related information, making up boxes and apply labels to boxes. Marking of product can include rubber stamping, electro etch, laser marking, dot peen, vibro peen or other techniques that Heim might incorporate into identification of product.
Additional duties can include gathering proper size wrap, boxes and other packaging materials, setting up bagging, labeling or other equipment related to packaging or marking of product. The employee must be able to use computers and relevant software packages to correctly process product in the shipping area.
Follow established procedures to use weight counter to verify proper quantities in boxes. Handle products carefully and ensure product is packaged to minimize damage during transit. Use material handling devices such as hand trucks and hydraulic lifts to move packaged products within shipping area or possibly to other areas. Complete production records. Occasionally assist pulling stock, relubricating stock items for shipping, and performing general shipping duties as required. Replenish bags on bagging machine required. Change print ribbons as required following specified procedures.
Complete all required production records. Report all faulty product/equipment and or unusual circumstances to supervisor. Maintain good housekeeping practices in work area. Comply with all safety regulations including the wearing of necessary protective equipment as required.
