Summary Assists and supports co-workers in the procurement of goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for company. Assists and supports employees in all departments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Establishes annual goals and objectives including annual cost reduction targets and manages performance to assure successful completion
Manage assigned commodity groups for optimum performance including effective inventory management processes, cycle counts, shipments, and supplier quality
Interface with Production, Program Management, Quality, and Engineering to supply parts per delivery schedule requirements, maintain proper inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery, coordinate the return of damaged items, expedite parts, and maintain appropriate files and records
Collaborates with the Engineering, Operations, and Quality team to evaluate new suppliers
Participate in Configuration Control and Material Review Board meetings to ensure hardware is purchased and disposition
Responsible for timely reporting on agreed Key Performance Indicators and presents strategic sourcing plans, activities, and success for Senior Performance review
Measure and ensure that key metrics (i.e. turns, schedule adherence, identifying shortages, inventory, reduction, etc.) are on target
Establish plans to implement visual kanban for all product line requirements and track performance to plan
Participate in negotiating formal agreements with suppliers as necessary
Interface with accounting to ensure the perpetual inventory reconciles to the Company's financial records
Collaborate with accounting to resolve memos to buyers, credit card issues, invoice errors, packing slip mistakes, and purchase order reconciliation to ensure on-hand quantities are accurately depicted in the ERP system or Kanban's
Ensure data integrity within the ERP system to include PO, cost, and lead times
Drives innovation and focus on continuous improvement within the Supply Chain organization
Assist in evaluating current ERP systems making recommendations for improvements when necessary
Evaluate, coordinate, and provide leadership in the disposition of Slow-Moving Obsolete Inventory
Advise operations management on logistical considerations as they influence cycle time, transportation, and product management
