This position is responsible for supporting and sustaining production operations in the AEM-Davis Instruments/Hayward and High Sierra Electronics/Grass Valley locations, designing mechanical and electromechanical fixturing and systems for production, solving quality issues with production operations and supplied materials as well as designing solutions that support ongoing quality improvements. Trains production operators and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties.
Job Responsibilities:
Supports ongoing production of products, mechanical and electronic assemblies, and production processes
Supports electrical testing of products, maintenance and improvements of test fixturing, failure analysis of fixturing and failed assemblies, parts
Works with quality, production personnel, and management to implement and maintain quality procedures and processes in the production environment
Designs fixtures and systems to support the production of weather, marine, rain monitoring, road safety receiver/transmitter, and other product lines
Works with Design Engineering to facilitate new products, assembly, and test development, concept design, prototypes, tests, fixture designs
Works to continually improve existing products and production processes, including quality improvement, cost reduction and upgrades
Communicates with component and sub-assembly vendors and technology suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs
Produces and maintains accurate documentation (ECO's, Bills-of-Materials, Specifications, Drawings, etc.)
Works cross-functionally to transfer products from one manufacturing facility to another, with efficiency, quality, and cost improvements as principal drivers
Assists in managing the manufacturing aspects of new product releases to the factory in cooperation with Design Engineering and Project Management

Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in electromechanical design/fabrication from four-year college or university; knowledge in mechanical design, thermal and stress analysis; familiar with properties of variety of plastics, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, and tolerance stack-up; experienced in machining processes; proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software tools.
Knowledge of AutoCAD (3D CAD Solid Modeling Design software knowledge desirable); Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and suppliers.

• This is a on-site opportunity that must be performed from our facilities in Hayward, CA.

US Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 per year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. AEM considers a wide range of factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education, licensure and certifications, key skills as well as other market and business considerations when extending an offer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
