Job Description:

The Department of Justice Studies invites applications for a nine-month, tenured Associate Professor position to begin Fall 2025. While the area of specialization is open for this search, the College of Juvenile Justice anticipates starting a Master of Public Policy program. Therefore, preference will be given to applicants who have a substantive strength in public policy, justice policy, social policy, etc. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Juvenile Justice, Public Policy, or a closely related field. Applicants with only a J.D. degree will not be considered.

Duties include research, teaching and service such as have an active record of scholarship and advancement of knowledge through scholarly publications and presentations in areas related to public policy, a record of excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements, engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field, improve teaching skills, and explore new instructional strategies, collaborate with colleagues to coordinate course offerings and contribute to program development and improvement, mentor doctoral students and participate in institutional service roles including department/college/university committees.
