POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator will coordinate the schedule, issues, and risks of Key Account Engineering projects by monitoring daily tasks and communication, as well as creating reports and updates for members of management. The position serves as a liaison between team members and other functions to get tasks done in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Scheduling and monitoring the daily progress of projects
• Coordinating project schedules, resources, and information
• Liaising with functional leaders to identify an define project requirements, scope and objectives
• Organizing and providing detailed updates to managers and other stakeholders
• Planning meetings and organizing project logistics
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Project management certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar
• Working knowledge of project management software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field
• Prior experience in preparing and interpreting flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
• Communication - excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Leadership - as the primary contact for team members, this person must be able to provide guidance and confident feedback
• Organization and time management - managing and updating the schedule of several projects across different functions
• Problem-solving - ability to work through and resolve minor issues
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Experience working in an engineering department a plus
• Experience in steel manufacturing processes
• Exposure to or experience in cross-functional work and outsourcing
• Knowledge of shop drawing preparation a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Low physical effort required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, and walk
• Maximum unassisted lift 35 lbs, average lift less than 10 lbs.
• Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator
• Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone
