Job Description:

A tenure-track faculty member in the School of Nursing supports the University's mission of providing student-centered, quality education and is committed to the success of our students and the university. A tenure-track faculty member divides time between teaching, research, and service. Key teaching responsibilities include delivering high-quality courses aligned with the School of Nursing's mission and curriculum, fostering student academic and professional growth, and contributing to curriculum development and innovation.

The successful candidate will teach in the pre-licensure nursing program, which is delivered in person on campus. The position will typically allocate 60% of the individual's time to teaching, with potential responsibilities in didactic, lab, and simulation courses. Specific teaching assignments will be determined in consultation with the new faculty member, ensuring alignment with their expertise and the program's needs. The position allocates approximately 20% of time to research, with expectations that the faculty member will conduct original research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, seek and secure external funding through grants or other sources, and collaborate on research projects with colleagues and students. Research time may be increased through buyouts if external funding is secured. An additional 20% of time is dedicated to service, which may include participating in departmental committees, contributing to the school's governance, engaging in university-wide service activities, serving the community, and actively participating in professional organizations at the local, regional, or national levels. Additionally, faculty are expected to participate in professional development, continuously enhancing teaching skills and pedagogical knowledge and seeing opportunities for professional growth and development.

We are seeking a candidate who embodies a strong commitment to student success and the university's mission, ensuring a positive impact on both student outcomes and the institution as a whole. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for fostering productive relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community. Additionally, the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment is critical, as this position requires teamwork across programs and with external partners to support the school's teaching, research, and service initiatives.
