Job Summary:
This position plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates the program in collaboration with the Cancer Center Service Line leadership and the Physician leaders. Through coordination of quality improvement initiatives, regulatory agency reporting, and reporting, this position works to increase the visibility of the Cancer Service Line. This position also assists with planning, development, and implementation of program goals and operations across the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin system. Performs such other duties as reasonably requested or otherwise necessary to properly assist the operations of an accredited Cancer Center. Travel to other Froedtert Health Cancer Sites is required. The Nurse Program Coordinator job description has incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Two years of experience in nursing field and hands on patient experience in an acute care setting is required.
A minimum of two years of oncology, hospice, palliative care, chronic disease management, or quality nursing experience is preferred.
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
ONC (Oncology Nursing Certification) is preferred.
Ability to utilize and navigate Electronic Health Records and other technology as appropriate to the role within the department and organization. Ability to multitask, be detailed-oriented within an often stressful environment and be able to perform the nursing process in a fast-paced and complex work environment.
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire.
