Provide direction of the day-to-day operations of the assigned Region, implementing plans and policies to achieve overall corporate objectives, maximizing operational efficiency and insuring profitability.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Position has overall profit/loss responsibility for assigned operational units and requires excellent business administration skills
Implement organizational policies, procedures, and organizational structure within the boundaries established by the management team and corporate policy
Develop, direct, and monitor short-term and long range plans consistent with overall profit and growth objectives of the company
Oversee the planning, staffing, and supervision of division activities including personnel administration, performance reviews, defining functions, responsibilities, and the like
Provide guidance and direction to subordinate managers in identifying potential clients and desired scope of projects
Maintain an effective business development program, securing profitable work on a routine basis
Confer with professional staff to resolve operating problems, authorize divisional operational procedures, and approve all major estimates.
Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and contacts to facilitate positive relationships and communication.
Maintain positive financial posture for assigned divisions & business segments and monitor cost analysis activities on a routine basis. May manage financial aspects of divisions work activities.
Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the division or as directed by the Executive Staff
Provide advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate leaders and managers toward their professional development while developing and maintaining through communications, delegation of responsibility, and delegation of authority, a competent business unit
Serve as member of corporate management team
Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits, for assigned divisions
Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, personnel and supplies within limits of approved budget
Enforces compliance with policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations
Travel: 50%
Position Requirements
4 year technical or business administration degree or equivalent (advanced degree - MBA - preferred)
Extensive experience in the management of construction operating units
Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and company operations required
Extensive knowledge of financial operations, marketing, estimating, and employee relations required
Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and analytical skills a necessity
Advanced understanding of production methods, processes, and supervision of large groups essential
Union Labor Relations (as required) - basic principles of labor / management partnerships
Computer/Office Machines - Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook
English - proficient in business writing and verbal communication
