Castleton Commodities International is hiring a Gasoline Blender in our Stamford, CT office responsible for managing the logistics involved in the Light Ends Gasoline Blending Program. This is a 24/7 position where the Gasoline Blender is responsible for ensuring that the Blended Components meet the specifications and requirements of both our contractual and regulatory obligations.
The Gasoline Blender will work closely with the Light Ends Trading team coordinating pipeline, barge, and tanker movements for appropriate timing, batch size, and sequence of product shipments to optimize the supply of the available products from refineries and terminals, while also minimizing transportation costs and ensuring quality. Additionally, you'll interact with Terminal Managers, Inspection Coordinators, Loss Control Representatives, Vessel Agents, Customers, and Quality Control personnel at pipeline companies.
Responsibilities:
Manage the logistics for product movements into and out of the blending terminal facility.
Conduct and oversee blending operations, including manual blends, in collaboration with traders to maximize value.
Monitor inventories at terminals and refineries daily and adjust logistics schedules to avoid shortages and the use of excess working capital.
Waterborne operations for delivered vessels.
Assist in the settlement process of all transactions related to the blending program.
Collaborate with the internal EPA Reporting team to maintain full compliance with all applicable EPA regulations.
Partner with Traders to optimize forward planning.
Interact with external counterparties to help coordinate outbounds and manage term deal relationships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field of study.
2+ years of experience in a Gasoline Blending or similar role within the petroleum or energy sector.
Prior Oil Operations logistics experience in New York Harbor and Colonial Pipeline preferred.
Strong knowledge of chemical processing, petroleum products, and relevant market dynamics.
The ability to be on call 24/7.
Prior ETRM systems experience - CXL preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, trading environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
