As the Director, Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving the product vision, strategy, and execution for our Group Insurance product lines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery and continuous improvement of product delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for creating innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is dependent on the business preferences and your location, potentially requiring your on-site presence on occasion at a Prudential office.

What you can expect:


  • Collaborate with the Chief Product Owner and business leaders to prioritize the product backlog in line with strategic objectives.


  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap, working with business functions, service teams, UX, and technology teams.


  • Build partnerships across departments to enhance the customer experience with Group Insurance products.


  • Act as the "bug shield" for your team, proactively identifying and resolving impediments to ensure smooth product development.


  • Make data-driven decisions to prioritize features and improvements, leveraging analytics and user feedback.


  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders for successful product delivery.


  • Continuously refine the product backlog with the Agile team, ensuring clarity, estimates, and prioritization.


  • Gather and prioritize requirements from stakeholders in areas like Quote, Billing, and Claim, ensuring alignment with customer needs and team goals.


  • Work with Agile teams and Business Analysts to define product specifications, create user stories, and manage the product backlog.


  • Plan and lead User Acceptance testing sessions with Business Analysts for stakeholder approval.


  • Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the product journey.


  • Provide leadership to agile teams with moderate to high risk and complexity.


  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master and Scrum Team on Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.


  • Monitor and analyze product performance, using data to drive continuous improvement.


  • Manage and oversee the product development process, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.


What you’ll need:


  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully leading product development from concept to launch.


  • Group Insurance product experience with an understanding of the Customer Lifecycle.


  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.


  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.


  • Passion for technology and innovation, with a customer-centric mindset.


It’d be a plus if you had:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $160,700.00 to $217,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
