The Role

Lithko Contracting is seeking a QA/ QC Manager who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure project compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. They will manage inspection teams, perform audits, and collaborate with project managers to identify and mitigate risks while maintaining the highest quality in concrete production and construction practices. The role will also involve continuous improvement of processes, training staff on quality standards, and resolving quality-related issues on-site.


The role will be assigned to different locations based on project needs; the first assignment will be in Columbus, OH.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee QA/QC team: Lead, develop, and manage QA/QC team members to ensure processes are followed and quality standards are adhered to.
  • Develop and Implement Quality Management Systems: Establish continuous improvement programs focused on enhancing concrete durability, reducing defects, and increasing overall project efficiency by introducing best practices, establishing tracking metrics, and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Lead Compliance with Regulatory Standards: Implement and enforce industry and environmental standards such as ASTM and ACI, ensuring that all concrete production and construction processes comply with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Conduct In-Depth Audits and Site Inspections: Perform frequent site audits and inspections to identify and resolve quality issues early in the construction process, coordinating with engineers and project managers to implement corrective actions.
  • Risk Mitigation and Non-Conformance Management: Proactively manage quality-related risks by identifying potential failure points and managing non-conformances through root cause analysis, ensuring long-term integrity and performance of concrete structures.
  • Oversee Concrete Mix Design and Quality Control: Ensure that concrete mix designs meet the project specifications and performance requirements through rigorous testing and monitoring.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent military service.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control management.
  • Experience in risk mitigation, non-conformance management, and corrective/preventive action planning.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical specifications, blueprints, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard QA/QC software, reporting tools, and data management systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor QA/QC teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ability to work on-site at concrete manufacturing and construction locations, conducting audits and inspections as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records for audits and compliance checks.
  • Ability to travel and willingness to relocate depending on project location.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification/training in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with testing and quality control procedures including the implementation of ASTM and ACI standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage QA/QC processes in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
