Job Description:

The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing, planning, organizing, and directing Life Cycle activities and overall configuration changes to the Fleet to ensure that we have the necessary Operational Aircraft to support CHI business operations as well as Customer needs. This representative will manage the department in a manner to achieve CHI’s Strategic Plan.


The Fleet Manager directs, manages, and mentors Program Managers in support of objectives, and uses effective leadership, team building and communication to motivate and drive the team to accomplish a common goal safely, with high quality, on time and on budget.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manages all aspects and staff of Fleet Management (Configuration, Cost, Assignment/Availability, and Market Segment Competitiveness) to include Flight Data Management. This representative will also work closely with MRO Operations, department heads and the VP of Maintenance in a collaborative manner.

  • Manage to GP-93 and continue to improve on processes associated with GP-93

  • Ensures all Fleet Management activities meet quality, cost, and schedule expectations to achieve corporate objectives.

  • Ensures appropriate innovative systems and processes are identified and implemented.

  • Ensures FAA Certification and regulatory compliance are met, and sound program management practices meet corporate expectations.

  • Proposes and ensures all expenditures meet budgetary constraints.

  • Conducts performance evaluations, recommends hires and promotions, anticipates, and plans for skills and human resource requirements and develops staff to meet those needs, interprets and applies organization policies, and provides leadership toward resolving employee problems.

  • Manages, and drives continuous improvement activities to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time and reduce cost. Uses the proper problem-solving techniques to address issues.

  • Additional duties or projects as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE




    • Must have a working familiarity with helicopter structures, mechanical systems, or electrical systems.

    • Management experience and demonstrated ability to lead and build teams across all levels of the organization, and ability to coach and develop program managers.

    • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills.

    • Excellent communication including written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively present ideas, concepts, and proposals.

    • Must demonstrate commitment, vision, and tenacity to drive projects to completion.

    • 10 years of experience in an aircraft maintenance or manufacturing environment in a decision-making role; military experience preferred.

    • Rotorcraft experience on 107/234CH47D preferred; military experience qualifies.

    • Extensive experience, education, and training in aviation/aerospace field, including 5 years of program management.

    • Possesses documented training in program management processes, and knowledge and experience working within quality management systems.

    • Airframe and Power Plant license preferred.

    • Training and experience utilizing Lean methods preferred.

    • Ability to lead project/program development, including needs assessments; can lead day-to-day program oversight and management, and is able to develop schedule and resource requirements.

    • Ability to prepare budgets, be innovative, and achieve desired results.

    • Ability to prepare weekly, monthly, annual and end of project/program reports as required.

    • Must be able to handle multiple projects/programs simultaneously within stringent time constraints.

    • Ability to interface with functional departments at various levels, and uses discretion, independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    • Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as a U.S. Person
