Oneonta City School District has the following vacancy: Teaching Assistant NYS Licensed Teaching Assistant certification required. Selected candidates will be interviewed by administrator(s) and finalist recommended by the Superintendent. Salary: $23,000 We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction and ensuring a positive, engaging learning environment. The Teaching Assistant will assist in classroom activities, prepare materials, monitor student progress, and provide one-on-one or small group support to students needing additional help. Responsibilities include reinforcing lessons, managing classroom behavior, and assisting with assessments. They will also handle routine administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and organizing learning resources, to help the lead teacher focus on instruction. The ideal candidate is patient, organized, and has excellent communication skills. A passion for helping students succeed is essential. Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred. A background in education or a related field is beneficial but not required.
