The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Participate in the development, implementation, maintenance, and coordination of
payroll operations • Guide operations and strategy to manage information in support of human resources
and finance teams. • Participate in the implementation, modifications, updates and enhancements in
technology/vendors, applications and processes to ensure optimal performance in the
delivery of payroll services • Support management with specific data reporting needs. Identify any unmet
system/data needs of the business and works to develop appropriate solutions • Deliver on continuous payroll improvement targets • Coordinate with partners, customers and key stakeholders (HR Operations, Finance,
Operating Sector, IT and Management) to ensure integration, efficiency and
effectiveness of the delivery of payroll services as well as addressing business needs
with a customer focused and compliant disposition • Ensure service delivery quality for all processes and procedures, keeping third parties
accountable • Manage outsourced payroll vendor processing to ensure timely and accurate payrolls are
produced and executed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner • Ensure Internal Audit controls and standard operating procedure for payroll processing
are followed • Identifies, prioritizes, and manages departmental projects as well as representing
payroll's interests in interdepartmental projects including determining payroll impacts,
allocation of internal resources, and coordination of any required payroll testing • Utilizes established policies and procedures in making decisions while also using sound
independent judgment in issue resolution • Responsible for file transmissions and reconciliations with 3rd party payroll related
vendors • Handle annual 401(k) audit • Manage tax management for company and ensure timely and accurate set-up of all new
locations and manage ongoing issues related to taxation of the company
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: • Experience in a Payroll role and solid experience in Payroll working in a multi-state,
multi-FEIN organization • 5+ years of payroll processing experience including troubleshooting and researching
complex payroll issues • Demonstrable experience in leading transformation projects in business operations • Excellent understanding of the critical success factors for payroll operations, including
managing effective and efficient payroll services as provided by external payroll
providers • Excellent time management skills • Strategic thinking and delivery of communications • Customer relationship focus & discipline • Background in operational excellence, and business decision-making • Experience in payroll taxes and basic accounting • Experience with ExponentHR preferable but not required
