The salary for this position starts at $43,230. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.

1. Job Summary:
The Camp Program Director is responsible for developing and coordinating relevant programs, conferences, and retreats offered at the camp. The incumbent develops plans in consultation with the Camp Executive Director and/or Senior Program Director, with oversight by the Executive, to develop and market high quality programs and facilities offered at the camp on a year-round basis.

2. Essential Functions:
· Works with the Camp Leadership, Board of Directors, and respective committees to ensure high quality programs for groups participating (age and skill levels) along customer facing facilities.
· Develops and implements marketing and promotion plans and recruitment of participants.
· Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
· Ability to observe staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate management techniques.
· Recruits, hires, trains and supervises seasonal staff or part-time staff.
· Develops and implements new and existing programs, including day to day operations, administrative, purchasing and quality.
· Evaluates and reviews programs to ensure high quality, equitable outcomes.
· Routinely inspects and replaces all program area equipment as needed.
· Manages all programs to meet annual budget and enrollment goals.
· Maintains certifications, accreditations, and all necessary reports.
· Supports Annual Fund, Y of the North Committees, Community Boards, and partnership efforts.
· Supports and directs events as needed for community development, alumni relations, and fundraising.
· Participates in Y of the North initiatives as directed by the Adventure team leadership.
· Oversees risk management to ensure safe and certified customer experience.
· Assists with the operation of all camp and adventure duties as assigned by the Executive or Senior Program Director.

3. Relationships:
This position reports to Camp Executive Director and/or Senior Program Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with all camp and Y staff, volunteers, program participants, and community partnerships. The Program Director plays an active role in committees as assigned by their supervisor. The incumbent is responsible for supervising seasonal and part time staff. The Program Director works closely with the Executive Director and/or Senior Program Director in planning and implementing programs. This position represents the Y of the North in mission, vision and accountability to all potential participants.
4. Qualifications:
Required:
· Minimum age of 25 years.
· Minimum of three (3) years camp or related experience.
· Minimum of one (1) camp season of supervisory experience.
· Relevant previous experience in developing, implementing, administering camp or youth programs.
· Ability to demonstrate considerable skill and experience in program leadership and management.
· Experienced in outdoor living skills, first aid, risk and emergency management.
· Demonstrated skills in group development, recruitment, training and the supervision of staff and volunteers.
· Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR/AED provided by YMCA or other certified organization (may be obtained upon hire but must be completed before an employee supervises youth).
Preferred:
· Ability to become DQF (formerly DOT) certified driver.
· Bachelor's degree
· Multilingual
6. Work Conditions:
· Must be capable of carrying loads of up to 50 pounds and able to traverse hilly and uneven terrain.
· Works in a wide variety of environmental factors.
· Perform essential program support to camp activities and programs which may include, but not limited to the following activities: semi - reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, working in narrow and/or confining spaces underground, overhead, and at ground level, twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs, and lying on stomach and/or back.
· Ability to perform tasks outdoor in different climates.
· Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
