Position Description

Dawson Construction LLC’s safety internship program provides construction safety students with an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure in their chosen field. Interns can work during or between academic sessions.

While interning with Dawson, construction safety students are assigned to the company safety program, and will include going to construction job sites and construction yards, as well as auditing all safety aspects of the company.

Goals and Objectives

• Interns learn various areas of a commercial construction safety program.
• Complete a meaningful experience that prepares interns for a successful transition to challenging and rewarding careers.
• Expose interns to a wide range of construction safety activities, and let them dive deep into a few areas.

Duties:

Provide support to the corporate safety program and job sites, with assignments that can include:

• Following safety protocols in a Safety First environment.
• Learning hands on skills.
• Supporting job sites or administrative departments related to safety.
• Gathering information and auditing.
• Completing projects and reports.
• Reading safety plans and documenting safety incident details.

Position Requirements

Candidates

Ideal candidates may be incoming juniors or seniors in college, currently enrolled in a 4-year institution majoring in construction safety or a very closely related field.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
