We are looking for a dynamic Postdoctoral Scientist with a background in virology/immunology to study HIV-COVID coinfection using the non-human primate model on a funded NIH R01 project. Our primary goal is to establish the role of pre-existing HIV in driving severity of COVID-19 using latest state of art techniques like single cell RNA sequencing, high parameter flow cytometry and confocal microscopy. Due to an immensely collaborative environment, candidate needs to be self-driven and capable of propelling their own research project while assisting other lab members in their research endeavors.
The postdoctoral scientist will work closely with the Principal Investigator Dr. Singh along with other lab members in high containment (ABSL3). The postdoctoral scientist will have great opportunities to use state-of-the-art technologies at the exceptional environment of SNPRC and Texas Biomed and work with national and international collaborators while performing cutting edge research on infectious diseases like AIDS, COVID-19 and tuberculosis.
