Company Overview

MICOR Industries, LLC ("MICOR") was founded in 1999 in Decatur, AL and was acquired in May 2018 by father-son team of experienced businessmen. Post-acquisition, MICOR has approximately quadrupled its revenue to $20mm+ and needs a leader capable of assuring an operating infrastructure consistent with a larger scale enterprise.

MICOR's customers are primarily in the aerospace and defense/military industries and has its locations in both Decatur, AL and Melbourne, FL. MICOR offers customers CNC machining for routine and exotic materials, welding, painting, heat treating, assembly, laser marking, laser cutting, EDM cutting, metal etching, metal fabrication and value added service, and complex assembly. An exciting development slated to be fully operational by April 2025 is the installation of a $4.5mm 6-axis gantry mill in Decatur, which boasts a 7-micron accuracy over a more than 19' diameter potential cutting area.

Position Summary

MICOR is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of President, located in Decatur, AL. Reporting to ownership (who is not routinely engaged in daily operations), the President holds the top leadership role at the company in charge of all aspects of the enterprise.

S/he will be responsible for every aspect of the business to ensure quality, production, planning, customer relationship, employee relations, on-time delivery, finance, sales and profitability. S/he must be metrics-driven and must operate with a hands-on engagement with our ERP system.

This position requires strong communication skills to both external and internal constituents, demonstrated commitment to results, outstanding leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of effectively getting the company's product to the market. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented with a minimum of 12 years of successful leadership in precision metal manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or military industries.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Focus heavily on organizational performance, aligning resources with customer expectations to optimize output.
• Lead strategic planning and annual budgeting with input and approval from ownership.
• Develop, monitor, and improve performance against key performance indicators (KP|s) pertaining to all aspects of the business.
• Ensure rigorous use of company ERP system (ProShop) as critical tool for planning, monitoring and executing customer deliverables.
• Develop and execute plans to manage all meaningful cost categories of manufacturing, including quoting labor, tooling, quality, programming, contract review, raw materials, outside processors and shipping. Extensive business acumen with in-depth knowledge of the financial and operational drivers within a precision manufacturing operation.
• Maintain constant attention to the financial performance of the company. Develop staff to generate and utilize data to lead the setting of financial goals, budget setting process, and execution on agreed-on goals for manufacturing.
• Build a winning culture based on integrity & ethics, candor, honesty and accountability.
• Promote transparency throughout the company and ensure team members have the required visibility to and understanding of metrics which their performance impacts.
• Establish relationships in the community to benefit MICOR's reputation and brand recognition as a top-quality precision machine shop.
• Incorporate quality improvement manufacturing principles, such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other relevant processes as required, making the company the highest quality and lowest cost manufacturing facility possible. Foster a work environment with a continuous improvement and quality mindset.
• Maintain AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality certifications and other quality certifications, as necessary. A leader with demonstrated commitment to attracting, building, and retaining top talent as a strategic asset. Build and maintain a strong team capable of meeting the manufacturing objectives while also maintaining a positive work environment that promotes safety, quality, and an engaged workforce.
• Demonstrate effective leadership and relationship-building skills, as well as the presence and technical competence in precision machining, that commands the respect and trust of all employees and customers.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for effectively interfacing with a diverse group of people inside and outside the company.
• A transparent communicator to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated effectiveness selling complex projects to multi-national corporations.
• Experienced in M&A transactions, including sourcing targets, arranging financing and integration of newly acquired entities.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree, with a preference towards engineering, finance, and production management. Master's degree is a plus.
• Strong equivalent experience will be considered.
• A minimum of 12 years in leadership roles in the precision metal manufacturing market; preferably serving the aerospace and/or military industries.
