Job Overview:

The Director of GTM and Market Development will lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies focusing on channel and retailer partnerships. This role will define market entry plans, drive business expansion, and work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure successful launches. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in building and executing channel strategies, entering new markets, and driving revenue growth through strong partnerships with key retailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • GTM Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies, ensuring successful launches in new markets and channels. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to align GTM initiatives with broader business objectives.
  • Channel and Retailer Strategy: Develop and refine channel strategies tailored to each retailer's strengths and consumer base. Identify opportunities to optimize product placement, pricing, promotions, and merchandising across key retail channels (e.g., Target, Ulta, Sephora, and other mass and specialty retailers).
  • New Business Development: Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, including partnerships with new retailers and expansion into untapped markets. Develop strong, strategic relationships with key decision-makers at potential retail partners. Design and propose strategy to enter market or channel or retailer.
  • Retailer and Channel Collaboration: Work closely with trade marketing and retailer teams to execute joint business plans, promotional strategies, and in-store activations that drive brand awareness and sales.
  • Market Development: Identify and prioritize market expansion opportunities across geographies and customer segments. Analyze market trends, competitor performance, and consumer behavior to inform business strategy and capitalize on growth areas.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and product teams to ensure smooth market entry and execution of channel strategies. Act as the bridge between departments to deliver cohesive retail and channel plans.
  • End to End Launch Management: Lead and Co-ordinate end to end launch cross functionally to ensure all functions deliver the common goal: Best in Class Launch.
  • Integrated Business Planning: Work with VP to lead the IBP process to ensure the most effective and profitable GTM strategy.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in go-to-market strategy, channel/retailer strategy, or market development, preferably within the beauty, cosmetics, or consumer goods industry
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful GTM and channel strategies that drive revenue growth
  • Experience working with major U.S. retailers (e.g., Target, Ulta, Sephora) and managing relationships with key retail decision-makers,
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term growth plans with day-to-day execution
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and experience utilizing data to drive decision-making
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with sales, marketing, and product development teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities
  • Experience with channel and market expansions.
  • Experience with acquisitions a plus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
