The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for partnering with the store leader to achieve store sales and maximize profitability through effective management of the store team and implementation of company policies. The Assistant Store Manager partners with the store manager to lead the store and develop and motivate the staff to achieve an exemplary level of customer service that will drive sales productivity and results. The Assistant Store Manager will collaborate with the store leader and cross-functional business partners, as directed, to support all-level organizational goals.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Sales & Client Services
Partner with store teams to maximize sales revenue and achieve sales and KPI targets.
Monitor individual sales performance and identify growth opportunities.
Play an active role on the sales floor and lead by example in providing exceptional sales service to drive client satisfaction and loyalty.
Build strong relationships with clients and provide personalized assistance.
Handle escalated client inquiries and ensure timely resolution.
Implement initiatives to enhance the overall shopping and styling experience and promote client retention.
Lead, develop, and motivate staff through clear communication, goal setting, and regular coaching opportunities to grow planned business.
Create a community by initiating and hosting in-store shopping events.
Ensure that each client is offered personalized head-to-toe luxury styling delivering a wardrobe that perfectly reflects their lifestyle.
Operations
Oversee risk management, store cash controls, and inventory management.
Inventory and Inventory checklist oversight (pre and post) ensuring reconciling on time.
Understanding shrink results with a keen eye on results and identifying issues.
Understand when & how to communicate a facility's request based on urgency level: safety, customer-facing, and compliance.
IT - know "Who to contact."
Partnering with Store Manager and/or Operations Manager on security personnel.
Understand and properly execute all management register functions.
Train store staff in all areas of Point of Sale.
Partner and support in areas of stock, shipping, receiving protocol/policies and procedures, and OMNI fulfillment.
Control store expenses and maintain budgets, continually striving to reduce costs.
Open and close the store as needed following daily routines, and ensuring Banking is done on time.
Ensure all front and back of house procedures are executed by the team in accordance with company Policy and Procedures
Visuals
Uphold all visual merchandising standards set forth by the brand.
Reference floor set images within one drive to accurately maintain shop floor displays.
Support in the placement of new product deliveries when needed.
Ensure product in store is accurately replenished.
Actively recover shop floor and ensure accurate replenishment of product in store
Product
Partner with the Buying & Merchandising team to ensure product assortment is consistent with market needs and sales goals.
Participate in store walk-throughs - biweekly virtual + quarterly in person
Ensure all members of the store teams uphold communication channels with the merch team.
Partner with buyers on relevant product feedback.
Ensure all team members are well-versed and trained in all product knowledge.
Marketing & Events
Partner with the Store Manager in identifying and targeting key clients with charitable groups and/or school ties to partner with for in-store shopping events.
Act as the liaison for elysewalker in the local community to identify influential organizations that would be good partners for the company.
Partnering with the Events & PR department to ensure that once events are confirmed, the store supports them to be as successful as possible, including disseminating information to the store team, encouraging stylist outreach to clients, and providing timely feedback.
Working with Events & Planning departments to offer feedback on creating realistic yet strong sales goals for each event.
Partnering with participating stylists to ensure pop-up expectations are met.
Human Resources
Develop and motivate staff through clear communication and regular coaching opportunities
Act confidently and with integrity when addressing all human resource issues on time, and partner with the Store Manager or HR when necessary.
Lead by example in team building while having an empathic approach.
Exhibit enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit to create a positive work environment.
Ensure the integrity of payroll and the payroll process.
Required Skills
3-5 years of luxury retail experience or related industry
Experience managing and leading a team
Dynamic interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Independent work ethic, time management skills, and personal accountability
Experience with Point-of-sale systems and client outreach tools. Microsoft Teams is a plus.
Effective written and verbal communicator with all business partners.
Adapt well to change and show flexibility.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite as well as point-of-sale systems.
Must be able to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively and efficiently.
