The Admissions, Program Coordinator in the School of Nursing and Health Studies' (SONHS) Office of Student Services (OSS) reports to the College Recruiter and provides support for the graduate and Accelerated BSN programs. The Program Coordinator works closely with SONHS and University personnel to sustain school-wide growth and long-term operational excellence by building relationships with local constituents, assisting with recruitment efforts, and processing applications through all aspects of the admission process. This person coordinates the initial enrollment of deposited students, monitors course enrollment projections, manages the continued registration of incoming students, serves as the first point of contact for all graduate and Accelerated Undergraduate nursing student registration issues, and works collectively with the administration to support scholarship and fellowship applications. Duties also include onboarding new students and maintaining student records. The ideal applicant will be able to engage and assist a diverse student body and to work closely with faculty, administration, and outside agencies with minimal supervision. To this aim, he/she must possess excellent analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills. It is also important the Program Coordinator be able to be self-directed as well as collaborative to work effectively as a member of the OSS team. Approximately 3 years of related work experience and a Bachelor's degree in business, communication, education, health science, nursing, public health, or a related field is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Admission 80%
Uses NursingCAS to monitor and process applications for various graduate programs, and assists with Accelerated BSN application processing as needed
Contributes to the development of new admission procedures and implements necessary changes
Creates and maintains files for applicants
Tracks applications and communicates directly with applicants to encourage them to complete their application packages on time
Works with the International Admission Office to process all required international documentation for program applicants
Contacts Associate Deans and Program Directors to review files for interview/no interview decisions
Coordinates faculty availability to set up interview dates and ensure proper interview coverage
Sets up interviews with applicants
Prepares interview grids for faculty use prior to scheduled interviews
Gathers faculty admission recommendations and prepares recommendations for review by the Graduate Academic Standing and Admissions Committee (GASAC)
Updates admission decisions in CaneLink and NursingCAS during each step of the admission process
Generates and sends admission letters and Certificates of Admission
Follows up with new admits to encourage them to deposit
Works with the Associate Deans and Program Directors to cancel admission offers if deposits are not paid on time
Checks that new students comply with all criteria as outlined on their Certificates of Admission prior to their first day of classes
Ensures admitted students clear their clinical requirements as related to RN licenses, BLS/PALS/ACLS certifications, immunizations, background checks, drug tests, etc. prior to beginning their first term of enrollment
Uploads all required documentation for graduate students into the Graduate School's Document Management System to ensure SONHS compliance and timely graduation
Onboarding 10%
Obtain approval for onboarding material from program Directors and disperse to incoming cohort
Coordinates the initial enrollment of deposited graduate students
Arranges access for deposited students to pre-immersion courses and ensures course completion prior to the beginning of their first semester
Supports SONHS orientation efforts by developing orientation packets and facilitating orientation activities
Follows up with new students prior to their first day of classes to ensure compliance with all criteria outline on their Certificates of Admission
Assists Clearance Team to ensure admitted students clear their clinical requirements as related to RN licenses, BLS/PALS/ACLS certifications, immunizations, background checks, drug tests, etc. prior to beginning their first term of enrollment
Uploads all required documentation for current graduate students into the Graduate School's Document Management System to ensure SONHS compliance and timely graduation
Student Services Support 10%
Supports the College Recruiter with recruitment efforts by assisting with data entry and inquiry follow up
Proactively seeks new information and generates new solutions to unfamiliar situations
Stays abreast of SONHS and University opportunities, policies, and procedures to provide students with accurate information and refer to others as appropriate
Answers general phone, e-mail, and in person inquiries about SONHS academic programs, and refers inquiry information to the College Recruiter and Sr. Program Coordinators for follow up
Sends and receives faxes, makes copies, scans and e-mails documents, and mails letters as required
Participates in and contributes to various SONHS events
Assists with file audits as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Coordinates the continued registration of all current graduate students by communicating with Associate Deans and Program Directors, OSS team members, students, and various other constituents
Notifies Associate Deans and Program Directors of which students are not registered at the beginning of each semester and who, as a result, are not permitted to attend class
Applies and removes SONHS holds to student records as needed
Works closely with the Executive Director and College Recruiter, the OSS team, and outside constituents to develop and host career-related resources and events for current students

Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor Degree preferred
Experience: 2 Years
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Approximately 2 years of work experience in higher education preferred, particularly in academic administration and/or admission. Any appropriate combination of education and related work experience, including experience as a student employee, will be considered.
