The Systems Administrator will provide technical support and assistance to resolve problems with the organization's computer systems. This position will protect critical systems, assets, develop secure solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and automate processes to drive organizational success. Job Responsibilities: Maintains and administers computer systems and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. Provides technical support by identifying, investigating, and resolving users problems with computer software and hardware specific to the organizations computer and operating systems. Assists staff with technology issues via a helpdesk ticketing system. Creates and manages all system permissions and user accounts. Installs, upgrades, configures and monitors application software and computer hardware, printers, and scanners. Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations. Implements security measures for computer and information systems. Creates an electronic data backup to prevent loss of information. Configures, monitors, and maintains virus protection software for the organization. Collaborates with staff to resolve problems related to system errors and recommends modifications to systems in order for all software and hardware to function properly. Procures and is responsible for all equipment, hardware, and software for all employees within the organization. Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products. Designs and documents processes related to computer programs or programs and other related machine operating systems. Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware procedures, and collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems. Maintains and monitors companies' security systems and acts as a point of contact during non-standard hours of operation. Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends in order to support the organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in computer science or related field is required. Microsoft/CompTIA Certification preferred.Experience and Knowledge: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in a start-up environment. Candidates with a background in biorefinery, petroleum, or chemical industries are highly encouraged to apply. Proven work experience in an IT support role. Practical experience with internet and network security protocols. Proven experience with email applications and exchange servers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills. Ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical staff. Superior understanding of computer hardware and software systems. Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven track-record of delivering strong results preferred. Someone who readily generates ideas; shows creativity and ingenuity and provides solutions to solve problems. Physical Demands: Frequent lifting and moving of items up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, prolonged standing or sitting may be required.
