Position Description: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, preparing financial reports, and maintaining the accuracy of financial records.The Accounting Technician will report to the Director of Operations and Technology Management and work closely with other finance team members to ensure smooth financial operations. This role offers opportunities to contribute to both day-to-day financial activities and long-term financial planning.Work is hybrid and will be done primarily at the Reinvent Stockton Foundation Headquarters (121 E. Weber Ave. Stockton, CA 95202). The exact nature of at home vs. in office will be discussed upon hire. Reliable transportation is required. Occasional non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, will be necessary for programming and events.Core Responsibilities: Financial Operations & ReportingManage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports).Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.Assist with financial audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.Accounts Payable & ReceivableProcess vendor invoices, ensuring timely payment and accurate recording of expenses.Manage customer invoicing, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.Budgeting & ForecastingAssist in the preparation of the annual budget and provide support in monitoring actual performance against budgeted figures.Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.Tax Compliance & Regulatory ReportingPrepare and file corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax laws, ensuring the organization remains compliant.Expense & Cost ManagementReview and manage employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.Monitor organizational spending, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.Additional DutiesPerform other duties as assigned by the RSF Leadership Team ~10%.Supporting the Reinvent Stockton Foundation universe as needed.Skills and Qualifications:Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred.Experience: 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles and tax laws.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.Compensation & Benefits:At Reinvent Stockton Foundation, the home of Stockton Service Corps, we use market data and compensation best practices to determine pay.
