In this role, the Tax Accountant II will support the accuracy of the financial statements through reporting and calculations of the company's income taxes.
Key Responsibilities * Accountable for the calculation of current and deferred income taxes. * Interpret and communicate existing and developing tax laws, rules and regulations to management. * Maintain tax depreciation software (PowerTax) system and integrity of calculation for tax returns and accruals. * Deliver accurate income tax analysis and information for preparation of FERC Form No. 1 Annual Report and financial disclosures in the 10K / Annual Report to Shareholders. * Collaborate with internal and external experts regarding compliance requirements for tax incentives including those under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). * Assist in other areas of the tax department including sales and property taxes as assigned.
Qualifications * Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting or associates degree with equivalent work experience. CPA Certification preferred. * Knowledge of accounting principles and overall understanding of financial statements. * Familiarity with Federal and State income tax law and Internal Revenue Code. * At least two to three years' experience working in an area of financial statement reporting, preference to those with tax provision experience. * Efficient, comprehensive learner, who is coachable and works well independently and in a team environment. * Successful candidate will have a problem solving, solutions-oriented mindset.
