The University of Miami UHealth System, Department of Urology, has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Radiologic Technologist 2 to work at Desai Sethi Medical Center in Miami. The incumbent sees patients referred for radiological examinations and produces radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. An employee in this position operates with the goal of preventing patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
2. Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, and computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
3. Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
4. Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors patients' conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician.
5. Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.
6. Arranges imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.
7. Records, processes, maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports.
8. Organizes examination rooms, ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use.
9. Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
Perform radiological studies for Desai Sethi Urology Institute
1. Operates the C-arm for Video Urodynamic procedures.
2. Helps assist the RN if there is need during the urodynamic procedure.
3. Operates the C-arm for other urological studies.
4. Assists in concierge department as needed.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program.
Certification and Licensing:
Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer.
ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality required.
CPR and BLS certification required.
Experience:
Minimum 3 year of relevant experience, will consider new graduates from accredited schools.
