The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Manager, IT Security to work remotely in South Florida.
The Project Manager, IT Security will be responsible for carrying out tasks in accordance with all strategic initiatives and objectives to fulfill the mission and vision of the University of Miami and the Department of Information Technology. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle (initiation, planning, execution, control, and close). The Project Manager, IT will be responsible for assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. The Project Manager, IT Security takes projects from original concept through final implementation-interfacing with all areas affected by the project including end users, stake-holders and vendors and ensures adherence to quality standards.
Identifies project stakeholders and defines project roles and responsibilities. Creates and maintains comprehensive project plans that communicate tasks, milestone dates, statuses and resource allocation.
Facilitates IT project governance and analysis. Creates and controls all project related documents.
Responsible for providing and maintaining accurate and timely project information in all project plans, communications, status reporting, and SharePoint sites.
Leads cross-functional project teams by task assignment and follows up to ensure on-time completion.
Maintains the quality and accuracy of the IT project portfolio. Maintains effective management of multiple concurrent project assignments.
Works closely with sponsors, stakeholders, users, technical team leads, technical and non-technical resources and management to execute core project management functions end to end on strategic projects that range in scope, budget, team size, risk and complexity.
Conducts regular project reviews and is responsible for knowing and communicating a project's status accurately throughout the project lifecycle which may include presenting to business/technical steering committees. Provides regular and timely feedback to team members and their respective managers.
Identifies and resolves issues that may negatively impact a project or project deliverables. Seeks and implements innovative ways to identify, respond to and control project obstacles/risks.
Assists test team in creating test plans and testing efforts. Pursues ways to improve operations and provides management with productivity reports. Assists in mentoring department interns.
Performs follow-up investigations on inquiries, complaints, and problems, ensures that problem resolutions are within established departmental guidelines, and communicates outcomes to appropriate senior managing staff.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Scheduling: Define project schedules and allocate resources
Monitoring: Monitor progress and make adjustments to keep the project on track
Communication: Keep stakeholders informed and engaged, and resolve issues
Documentation: Maintain project documentation and handle compliance issues
Risk management: Manage risk-tracking processes and design risk mitigation plans
Team management: Coordinate staff and internal resources, and mentor and guide the team
Business customer/vendor management: Manage relationships with stakeholders, and interpret their needs
Project delivery: Ensure deliverables are delivered on time, and sign off on deliverables
Post-implementation review: Identify key lessons learned after the project is completed

Bachelor's Degree in related field
