The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Grants Assistant for the Department of Medicine. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting Research Administrators with the management of grants and contracts in a large research department. This will include accurately maintaining budget information and personnel funding distributions in the department’s accounting system, updating effort in the University accounting system, and creating and managing the electronic grant files for research grants. This position will also assist in the preparation of reports for meetings between the administrators and faculty. Assists with routine accounting and financial functions for Grants & Contracts. Prepares routine documentation, verifies collected data, maintains documentation and databases as well as rosters and distribution lists. Assists with budgetary functions.
This position requires a well-organized and detail-oriented individual with the ability to utilize automated accounting systems, Excel, and databases. This position requires ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Concentration in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Must be proficient in Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary.
