Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
Conducting and managing laboratory experiments. Manage multiple research projects concurrently using techniques such as PCR, DNA cloning, sample preparation for electron microscopy, and cryo-EM data collection/analysis. Work together with PI or independently to perform complex laboratory work and technical analysis. Most of all we are looking for applicants that are motivated to learn novel technologies, take on new challenges, and to develop innovative techniques and methods.
The successful candidate will work with other lab members to conduct cell culture, molecular and cellular biology (cloning, genetic manipulation of singe-cell system), immunofluorescence-labelling, and cryo-electron tomography. Organization of lab space, coordination with other lab members for ordering and stocks, and presentation of data at lab meetings are essential. The candidate will assist the PI with experimental design, implementation of novel strategies/procedures, and manuscript preparation for publication, including figures and writing.
Ability to manipulate laboratory instruments and reagents to conduct experiments; ability to move about the lab environment. Will require standing or sitting at lab benches for long periods of time.
