About the Opportunity

The Office of has an immediate opening for a Senior Agile Manager Position, reporting to Assistant Vice President Position.

The Agile and Program Management department has an immediate opening for a Manager- Agile Coach. This role serves as a people manager and agile coach for one or more of the ART’s within the Cloud Solution. The successful candidate will have a strong agile background with minimum of 5 years of experience in agile roles (Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Agile Coach). Uses industry-standard best practices to assure delivery of goals and objectives, as well as compliance with all discipline processes and governance channels. The Chapter Lead will also manage chapter of Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers and be responsible for hiring, performance issues & appraisals, pay reviews and will perform additional incidental duties as assigned.

What You Will Do:


  • Perform people management responsibilities such as hiring, staff development, coaching, employee performance appraisals, compensation decisions, and other personnel actions for on-site and remote management and staff.


  • Oversee and be accountable for chapter outcomes and process support throughout its lifecycle (e.g., concept, design, development, launch, ongoing enhancements/maintenance, and retirement).


  • Partner with product leaders to support strategic product roadmaps and goals by providing appropriate skills and capacity to deliver high quality products.


  • Stay current with industry trends to identify opportunities for enhancement and manage changes to training and processes when needed.


  • Supports the development of the objectives, vision and goals for the chapter and ensure they are aligned with the System strategy.


  • Create a culture of growth, bold empowerment, servant leadership, and relentless improvement in effort to support a matrixed operating model.


  • Ensure chapter members are on-boarded have the resources, access approval and tools to work efficiently. 


  • Organize and manage work that is specific to the Chapter.


  • Ensure the chapter is up to date with the best talent and skills to facilitate product delivery


  • Empower the chapter members to relentlessly improve in all areas


  • Ensure chapter members have all the necessary tools to do their jobs well


  • Be a resource for your chapter, either as a specialist or as a generalist/problem solver


  • Maintain a backlog of people development opportunities


  • Leveraging existing recognition and reward programs for chapter members


  • Provide leadership to Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers in the development, coordination and execution of completing critical business objectives and attaining goals in areas focused on managing the products in an integrated technology environment. 


  • Support the professional growth and development of Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers and build a culture of continuous learning, discovery, accountability, and ownership by empowering their team   


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.


  • 5+ year of supervisory experience.


  • 10+ years Agile methodology experience in a large enterprise environment.


  • Requires knowledge of multiple agile development methodologies and frameworks.


  • Working knowledge in Product Management, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery.


  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies, i.e., Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping.


  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail, and negotiation skills.


  • Able to present information within all settings in a credible, confident and influential manner.


  • Communicate in a concise, direct and purposeful way.


  • Demonstrable mastery in various competencies of Teaching, Mentoring, Transformation, and Facilitation and embodies a commitment to support the growth and development of others.



  • In addition to supervisory and Agile experience this role will be expected to have completed (or be in process of completing) the following:



    • Leading SAFe


    • Certified Scrum Master


    • SAFe Release Train Engineer


    • Certified Agile Leadership


    • SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) – preferred

  • The hiring range is $140,400 – $193,000 annually.


  • For candidates outside Richmond, VA, listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
