Basic Job Functions:
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams, and is directly responsible for leading the mechanical maintenance team to achieve results in safety, reliability and cost efficiency. Responsibilities include execution of effective maintenance processes, team member training and development, identification and implementation of process improvement opportunities and project management.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and maintenance techniques
• Minimum 2-year degree in a mechanical discipline or equivalent technical training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Rolling Mill Leadership Experience
• Experience in hiring, training and developing maintenance teammates
• Knowledge and experience with Preventative and Predictive maintenance techniques using Maintenance Management Systems
• Experience with the maintenance of industrial hydraulic systems, gearboxes, couplings, furnaces, and compressors
