As a member of our safety team, the Regional Safety Specialist will serve as a business partner, supporting our regional locations to ensure compliance with company policies, as well as state and federal regulations. Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, you will collaborate closely to develop strategic plans across the region. By analyzing leading and lagging indicators, you'll craft targeted action plans that drive process enhancements and foster a culture of safety throughout the region. What You'll Do:
Assists with the development and implementation of safety and health programs and processes. Working on related training programs, standard operating procedures, job hazard analyses, and other related training topics.
Supports the implementation and standardization of training profiles for job specific associates to be assigned annually.
Responds to and assists sites with safety related incident investigations, potentially unsafe conditions; reviews recommendations and/or takes appropriate action to mitigate potential safety and health risk.
Serves as a company resource for safety and health; interacts with regulatory agencies, customers, and others as necessary at the direction of the Regional Safety Manager.
Develops, implements and administers the various safety related databases and reporting modules. (Sphera, Vector EHS, SharePoint)
Assists in the management of the company OSHA 300 log including completion of the annual summary for posting.
Works to develop role and responsibilities to assist Regional Safety Manager with all aspects of Regional Safety Manager role.
Develops and delivers presentations on health and safety topics including supporting safety meetings.
What Experience and Education Do You Need:
Bachelor's degree is preferred with preference for Occupational Safety or equivalent degreed program with 1 to 3 years of experience.
Knowledge and understanding of governmental regulations for safety and environmental.
An ability to objectively and accurately evaluate data utilizing analytical skills to maximize overall EHS performance.
Ability to maintain confidential information and to communicate information regarding compliance. performance or other business issues strictly on a need-to-know basis.
Must have a demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism on a continuous basis. (i.e. demeanor, communication, etc.)
Ability to influence others and to impart the concept of continuous (ongoing) improvement at all points on the performance continuum.
Must have strong organization and follow-through skills.
Must be comfortable working without direct supervision; and a demonstrated ability to secure resources cross functionally without daily oversight.
Industry recognized certifications are a plus. (OSHA 511, OHST, ASP)
Strong overall computer skills required. (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
Experience with warehousing or manufacturing is a plus.
Must be able to travel up to 25%-35% of the time.

Must be able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures varying from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation)
Wear clothing, boots, headgear and gloves that protect against the cold.
Requires the ability to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, or speaking with others; and responding appropriately to constructive feedback.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards/requirements.
Ability to work normal business hours with flexibility to be on call if / when needed.
