Location: Reston, VA
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Plant Costing Manager/Cost Accountant for a food manufacturer in Reston, VA
Responsibilities:
- Track plant performance against budgets and identify cost trends.
- Collaborate with Planning to quantify production's financial impact.
- Partner with Accounting/Finance to ensure accurate daily reports.
- Guide Plant Managers on cost targets and standards.
- Analyze production yield, downtime, and labor, reporting on KPIs weekly.
- Monitor capacity and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Oversee financial transactions and reporting accuracy for Work in Process and Finished Goods.
- Lead internal and external financial audits and address findings with leadership.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify areas for production and cost efficiency improvement.
- Document department goals and procedures as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications:
- BA in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) with 5+ years' experience in reporting.
- 5+ years of food manufacturing or related production experience.
- Deep understanding of production costs and operational functions.
- Knowledge of Operations, Planning, and Forecasting's role in profit and loss (P&L).
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Supervisory experience and experience with NetSuite or Plex preferred.
